Our Heritage

Born in the village of Le Le.

Since 2015, Like Natural Le Lee Wine Udhyog has pressed, blended and aged every bottle by hand in the village of Le Le, high above the Godawari valley in Lalitpur.

We are, in all likelihood, Nepal's one and only winery vinifying fruit grown on its own vineyard — from ripe Himalayan grapes to the golden ground apple, or yacon. No synthetic color, no shortcuts. Only fruit, raw honey, mountain herbs and patient time in oak.

Rooted in Le Le

From the village to the glass.

Every bottle of Le Lee is the work of the village of Le Le in Godawari-5, Lalitpur. This is the road it travels, told by the people who walk it.

  1. I

    The yacon beds

High above the Godawari valley, broad green leaves cover the terraces of Le Le. Underneath grows the ground apple, or yacon, the root that gives our white its honeyed sweetness.

  2. II

    The harvest

When the season turns, the roots are lifted by hand. No machines reach these terraces. The soil is shaken off, the roots sorted, and the best carried down to the house.

  3. III

    The makers

The women who grow the fruit are the same hands that ferment, age and fill every bottle. Family-run since 2015, with the knowledge passed along the kitchen table rather than a textbook.

“When you pour a glass of Le Lee, you pour the work of a whole village.”

Nurtured by the women of Le Le

Le Lee is locally owned and run by the women of the village. They tend the vines and the yacon beds, watch over the wine as it rests in oak, and decide when each bottle is ready. The care in every glass is Theirs.

Every bottle sold keeps that work, and what it earns, in the village. It is a small business, but it is the women's own, and it is the part of the story we are proudest to tell.

    The glass

Pale gold or deep garnet, it ends the way it began: natural. No synthetic colour, no shortcuts. Just fruit, honey, mountain herbs and patient time in oak.
